I made a terrible mistake.
Being a mafia princess, I knew my fate was already decided.
But I went ahead and longed for the wrong one.
Creighton King is bad news with a gorgeous exterior.
He’s silent, brooding, and obviously emotionally unavailable.
So I thought it was over.
Until he awakens a beast inside me.
My name is Annika Volkov, and I’m Creighton's worst enemy.
He won’t stop until he breaks me.
Or I break him.
This book can be listened to on its own
This book is not a conventional romance and contains themes that aren't to everyone's liking. Please check the author's note before reading.Review
Annika:. Annika is a sunshine girl who is always happy and bubbly. She is the daughter of a mafia boss and is expected to marry into another powerful family.
Creighton : Creighton is the son of a drug lord and is known for being cold and distant. He is also a genius and is studying to be a doctor.
The rain beats down on us like a witness of this moment.
The moment I decide that Annika Volkov won’t be able to escape me.
Not even if she wants to.
When Annika and Creighton meet, they are immediately drawn to each other. However, their relationship is complicated by their families' feud. They are also both hiding dark secrets that could destroy them if they are revealed.
And I think maybe, just maybe, I’m in too deep with this beast.
I’m in so deep that I will try everything in my power to understand him.
Even if he doesn’t like it.
I really enjoyed the relationship between Annika and Creighton. They were both complex characters with their own dark secrets. I loved watching them fall in love and then struggle to overcome their pasts.
The plot was fast-paced and full of twists and turns. I was never bored and I was always eager to find out what would happen next.
The romance was hot and steamy, but it was also emotionally complex. I loved the way that Rina Kent explored the different aspects of Annika and Creighton's relationship.
From the very first page, God of Pain grips readers with its evocative language and vivid descriptions. The author's ability to weave together imagery and emotions is impressive, painting a vivid picture of anguish and despair. Each chapter carries a sense of melancholy that lingers long after the book is closed, leaving readers with a deeper appreciation for the complex nature of suffering.
However, while the book's exploration of pain is undeniably captivating, it can be overwhelming at times. The unrelenting bleakness may prove too heavy for some readers, as the narrative rarely offers moments of respite or redemption. Additionally, the anonymous nature of the author might leave readers longing for a personal connection or context that could enhance the reading experience.
“But you don’t dance.”
“I do with you.”
“I don’t like the rain.”
“You do for me.”
