By ALEX NORTH

In this dark, suspenseful thriller, Alex North weaves a multi-generational tale of a father and son caught in the crosshairs of an investigation to catch a serial killer preying on a small town.
After the sudden death of his wife, Tom Kennedy believes a fresh start will help him and his young son Jake heal. A new beginning, a new house, a new town: Featherbank.
But Featherbank has a dark past. Twenty years ago, a serial killer abducted and murdered five residents. Until Frank Carter was finally caught, he was nicknamed "The Whisper Man," for he would lure his victims out by whispering at their windows at night.
Just as Tom and Jake settle into their new home, a young boy vanishes. His disappearance bears an unnerving resemblance to Frank Carter's crimes, reigniting old rumors that he preyed with an accomplice. Now, detectives Amanda Beck and Pete Willis must find the boy before it is too late, even if that means Pete has to revisit his great foe in prison: The Whisper Man. And then Jake begins acting strangely. He hears a whispering at his window.
Review
Tom , jake , Pete the characters are so real. Tom whose wife died from cancer and was in so love with her is left now with son. Tom and Jake both are same reclusive, content and unable to express which yields distance between them. Rebecca had been hands-on mother, bridge between two introverts and now these two are trying their best to move on and work with each other. They don't know if they love themselves but definitely love each other.
Pete's characters variations are shown amazingly and realistically. he's grown nice. After 20 years, Pete has to face a man again who makes him struggle to not to go back to old Pete ,
He would feel broken afterward, sometimes for weeks. There would be days when he would shake uncontrollably, and evenings when the bottle would be harder to resist.
not to have nightmare again and just live his boring routin. Reading this book is similar to nodding off in the car's passenger seat and being startled awake by a shivering rush of fear, a cold window pressing firmly against your cheek, a cool prickle at the nape of your neck, and other similar sensations. That's what i felt at the end.
Every meeting with the man damaged Pete a little more.
The Man he doesn't wish to meet, dreads the visits, fruitless visits
Courage is not the absence of fear, Pete knew. Courage requires fear.
I loved the atmosphere of this one. It felt gritty and heavy.Reading this book is similar to nodding off in the car's passenger seat and being startled awake by a shivering rush of fear, a cold window pressing firmly against your cheek, a cool prickle at the nape of your neck, and other similar sensations. That's what i felt at the end.
Whisper Man's cruel work wasn't described graphically yet i felt chilled. Felt Creeped out and wanted Jake and Tom to listen to their Gut.
The devil finds work for idle hands. Bad thoughts find empty heads.
But everything Happens for a reason right? No matter how scary it is
Children are actually most at risk of harm and abuse from a family member behind closed doors, and while the outside world might seem threatening, the truth is that most strangers are decent people, whereas the home can be the most dangerous place of all.
Final verdict
